Our client is an Indian based IT software company that designs and develops technology-based consumer products.

They focused on leveraging mobile and big data analytics to build a cross-device engagement and targeting platform for the media industry. The company recently launched a TV-to-mobile cross-targeting engine for advertisers to reach out to their relevant customer groups on mobile easily.

Requirements

The ideal candidate would ideally have 5+ years of operating experience, at a startup or in the corporate environment in the media/technology/ad-tech industry with significant P&L responsibility and significant people management responsibilities. Strong preference would be given to candidates who are alumni of a prestigious management consulting firm, with 3+ years of consulting experience. They must have an MBA from a top tier international business school, or an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as engineering, statistics, mathematics, etc.

 

Experience in the ad-tech industry will be a very strong advantage.
The candidate must demonstrate a creative approach to problem solving and be comfortable with using data to drive decisions. They should be incredibly detail oriented and have a very strong bias towards operating with discipline and building efficient organizational structures and processes. This however must be balanced with ensuring all teams remain lean and highly agile. Most importantly however, they must understand the importance of executing rapidly and getting things done in an unstructured and ambiguous environment.

 

Finally, the candidate must demonstrate a high level of empathy and outstanding teamwork, inter-personal skills, presentation skills and exceptional communication skills – both written and spoken.

Responsibilities


The VP – Strategy & Ops (S&O) is a critical role, where the candidate will be partnering closely with the cofounders and leadership team to build, and execute, a strategic roadmap to launch Zapr Media Labs in the Indonesian market, as well as drive its early growth in the region over the next few years. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of business – setting up an office, building the early team from scratch, forging key partnerships with industry stakeholders, growing the user base, scaling revenues and ensuring seamless campaign ad-ops execution.

 

The candidate will also be responsible for fostering and growing key relationships with senior management of partner brands and agencies and on brand building across the Indonesian media and advertising industry.

 

The VP – S&O will oversee the performance of the revenue team as well as the ad-ops team and have a close working relationship with our centralized engineering, product and publisher acquisition teams. They would need to quickly develop a strong sense for the pulse of the business and propose product strategies as well as innovative pricing strategies to further strengthen our competitive moat, while simultaneously growing our client base and business volumes. Additionally, they will be leading the Go-To-Market efforts for all new product launches.

 

This role is also intended to evolve into the GM – Indonesia role over the following 18 – 24 months, depending on the performance of the candidate.
