Preferred Candidate Will Have These Skills and Experience

  • Ability to collaborate with external customers and internal regional & global teams
  • Skilled at building sales pipeline and moving a prospect through the sales funnel to develop new businesses
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Proficient in standard business office software
  • Ability to quickly learn and use specialized business software (Michelman business intelligence, sales and marketing software)
  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills
  • Able to perform financial calculations, create and manage budgets
  • Ability to quickly achieve a thorough knowledge of Michelman products and their usage
  • Technical expertise in water based coatings, binders, additives, printing or flexible packaging preferred.

Education and Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience selling resins/ polymers/additives to the related Industry with established relationships in the market place
  • Strong knowledge of the related Market and Customer base
  • Sales / Business Development background with a proven track record of sales growth in a territory or
  • industry segment
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science related field, e.g.: biology or chemistry; advanced business degree preferred
  • Experience in commercializing and launching new products.
  • Strong chemistry knowledge with experience selling to specialty chemical or flexible packaging customers
  • Experience in working with cross functional teams to drive new sales and revenue growth
  • Experience in managing distribution channels in the assigned territorial coverage
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Able to travel by car and plane to visit a diverse, regional base of customers (Approximately up to 50%

  • Able to perform job duties at remote locations including industrial sites, chemical facilities, customer centers, and other locations

Position Overview
Currently, we have an opportunity available for a Territory Manager, managing all 3 business groups namely Coatings, Industrial Manufacturing and Printing & Packaging. This position will be home based in Jakarta/Surabaya. The successful candidate will be responsible to develop new business opportunities as well as manage existing business accounts directly or via distribution channels. This individual is responsible for driving revenue and margin growth in the assigned territory of Indonesia.

The Responsibilities of This Position Will Include

  • In partnership with both global and regional sales and marketing teams, develop and maintain relationships with external customers and prospects, attend trade shows and visit key customers, so as to expand sales of Michelman’s products.
  • Recognize the opportunity within each account and determine the frequency of account visits. Develop projects with each account and understand each project's objective and the account's ability to commercialize the projects. Assure win/win objectives for key stakeholders within each account is established and met.
  • Manage (ie. to develop strategies, measure effectiveness and articulate course corrections) each element of the sales funnel within the territory, ensure it is sufficiently robust to sustain targeted growth rates. Manage and utilize all aspects of the sales process.
  • As the Territorial Manager of the assigned territory, be accountable for growth, development of new business opportunities and maintain customer satisfaction. This involves managing distribution channels and key accounts.
  • Work with the Regional Commercial Director to plan and develop strategic direction of sales efforts, inventory management, invoicing, forecasting, pricing and volume discounts to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Work with Marketing and Technology to understand market trends, competitive products and pricing. Conduct promotional work to sell and develop new and existing business accounts,
  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates
