Requirements

Education:

  • University degree
  • Graduate degree in business or management; MBA and/or
  • Scientific degrees preferred HR professional specialization ideal

Languages:

  • English
  • CPO Country language

Experience:

  • Extensive (7-10 years) experience in HR roles, including significant
  • HR leadership experience at a large Pharma organization
  • Significant record of managing processes related to employee selection, development, retention, and motivation, as well as labor relations
  • Excellent understanding of the business cycle and the division of responsibilities and skills necessary across  organizations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
Responsibilities

Position Purpose

  • To develop and manage all HR processes for the Country, ensuring effective employee selection, motivation, development and staffing, and through effective coordination with other Country leaders ensure Novartis values are reflected in Country processes. Working with the Regional HR Leader to develop and manage all HR processes for the Country

 

Major Accountabilities

  • To develop strategy, processes and standards for all Country personnel recruiting, selection, and staffing activities
  • To ensure effective training and development for all Country personnel
  • To control headcount and workforce costs
  • To lead the Country performance management process
  • To ensure Country adherence to relevant labor and employment law and, when necessary, manage labor relations, including relations with external labor organizations
  • To foster diversity for the Country
  • In collaboration with the Communication Head, manage intra- Country communication, especially around HR-sensitive issues (values, advancement, motivation etc)
  • To monitor Country culture and company values-adherence and, at necessary times, help drive cultural change financial

  • Country revenue

  • DR market share Strategy/Market Focus
  • Effectiveness of coordination with business functions to determine appropriate staffing assignments
  • Employment branding and positioning
  • "Great-place-to-work" results
  • ROI and effectiveness of partnerships with search firms
  • ROI for development and training resources allocated Operational Excellence.
  • Cost control targets: headcount and employee costs; compensation and incentive costs; training and development costs; average cost-to- hire, etc.
  • Time that roles are vacant
  • Perceived quality and appropriate staffing of new hires
  • Labor relations: incidence of labor disputes and legal recourse; adherence to relevant labor laws

 

People, Capabilities, and Management:

  • Employee retention rate across key roles and segments
  • Staffing success rate for key positions (N-1, N-2 and BF Heads)
  • CPO employee diversity: racial, ethnic, gender, intellectual, etc.
  • CPO employee satisfaction with development programs and individual progress
  • Novartis talent pipeline objectives, including effective succession planning; employee selection, retention, and exportation targets
  • Effectiveness of internal communication, and alignment with regional and global communication strategy and planning
  • HR group employee acquisition and development: hire quality, development, succession planning, export
